Fuel Buyers

Fuel purchasers (e.g. airlines, cargo/delivery companies, and governments) are currently encouraging, and to a large extent will shape, the market for renewable aviation fuels. That is to say, in today’s nascent renewable jet fuel industry, the companies that win strong off-take contracts are the companies that will likely survive and grow. Yet the information available to purchasers, on which to base their purchasing decisions, has been limited, diffuse and difficult to analyze.

RenewableJetFuels.org and the associate Elsevier TechSelect database have been painstakingly developed to help buyers navigate this new and rapidly shifting fuel landscape.

Fuel Producers

Companies large and small, new and old are attempting to produce renewable fuels (including renewable jet fuels), or some key component within the supply chain of feedstock suppliers, technology developers, fuel producers, and blenders and distributors. Many companies fit into several of these categories and a few are aiming for full vertical integration. Most need partners within the supply chain and nearly all need financing for research, development, demonstration and commercialization.

The RenewableJetFuels.org and the Elsevier TechSelect database help companies on the supply side identify and assess potential partner companies (e.g. for feedstock, technology, or distribution needs), and gain visibility within the industry, government actors, funding entities, and the press. This will accelerate the adoption of renewable jet fuel – and lead to a more robust and efficient market for all parties.

Financial Providers

Investors and lenders play a crucial role in the development of the renewable jet fuel industry. Investors may participate in the early stages of technology development, provide growth capital, or provide project-level debt and equity. In any case, where opportunity exists - enhanced transparency and information increases the quality and volume of transactions.

This website and the Elsevier TechSelect database will allow investors to identify and juxtapose the investment opportunities in the market. This will reduce the resource burden for the diligence required for each transaction and should allow for more investors to participate in the market.

Research Community

The ability to access accurate and timely information is crucial to a thriving renewable jet fuel industry. Timely data on macro changes, individual firms, and changes along the value chain is currently unavailable. To get insight, researchers must search multiple databases, news sources, and financial files. This process is inefficient, and more importantly can skew perception towards those sources that are most easily available.

This site and the TechSelect Database will put the relevant information at the fingertips of the research community – be they the media, academic, financial, or corporate variety. Whether working under a tight deadline for a news story, making a key financial decision, or supporting a position paper – the database will allow for the most accurate information on the renewable fuel industry end-to-end.
